A Winter Solstice Gathering
THE DEEPEST REST
Saturday 19th December
On the Winter Solstice, we arrive at the darkest point of the year—the longest night and the moment when the natural world seems to become completely still.
Winter asks us to slow down. To draw our energy inward, to take time to nurture ourselves recognising that rest is not time wasted, but an essential part of the cycle. Beneath the quiet earth, life is resting and gathering strength for what will come next.
The Deepest Rest is an invitation to follow winter’s lead. To pause within the darkness and stillness, allow yourself to breathe and be introspective. It is a chance to reflect on the year that has passed: what it has taught you, what you wish to carry forward and what you may be ready to lay down.
Together, we’ll explore the lessons of winter and the stories of the Solstice—stories of darkness and light, endings and beginnings, rest and renewal. Rather than rushing towards the returning light, we’ll take time to honour the darkness and the wisdom that can be found there.
Our afternoon will begin over seasonal teas before we settle into a slow, grounding yin yoga practice. We’ll then gather around the table to share a homemade, seasonal two-course meal prepared by Soul Sauce.
After eating, we’ll spend time creating our own natural seasonal wreaths using predominantly foraged greenery. All materials will be provided, and you’ll be guided through the process before taking your finished wreath home.
As the afternoon draws darker, we’ll pause for homemade cake accompanied by your choice of warming hot chocolate or mulled wine. Our gathering will close with restorative yoga and yoga nidra, creating space to soften, go deeper into yourself and experience the deepest rest.
This is an afternoon for reflection, nourishment and connection—for moving slowly, creating with your hands and listening to what the quietest season has to teach us.
