A Samhain Gathering
INTO THE DARK
Friday 30th October
As autumn deepens and the nights lengthen, Samhain marks our descent into the darkest part of the year—a threshold between the outward energy of the lighter months and a quieter season of rest, reflection and nurture.
Traditionally known as a spirit night, Samhain is a time when the veil between this world and the spirit world is said to grow thin. It offers an opportunity to remember those who came before us, honour our ancestors and acknowledge death and endings with tenderness.
The natural world reminds us that endings are an essential part of life’s cycle. Trees release their leaves, plants return to the earth and the landscape begins its winter rest. Yet beneath the still ground, roots continue to grow and seeds wait patiently in the darkness. Every ending also holds the possibility of a new beginning.
Into the Dark is an invitation to follow this seasonal rhythm: to pause, gather yourself and turn gently inward.
Held in the soft glow of candlelight and accompanied by live piano, the evening will begin with grounding breathwork before moving into a deeply still and introspective Yin practice. Through slow, long-held postures, you’ll be invited to soften, reflect and consider what you are ready to release, what deserves to be honoured and what you would like to carry forward.
There will also be space to plant intentions for the future—allowing hopes and dreams to take root quietly during the resting months ahead, without pressure to bring them immediately into bloom.
The evening will close with a peaceful yoga nidra and extended savasana Live piano will accompany the yin practice and there will be the option of gentle massage and adjustment during the practice.
As the natural world roots down and hibernates until spring, this evening offers permission to do the same: to soften into the darkness, honour your need for rest and trust the unseen growth taking place beneath the surface.
Your evening includes:
Grounding breathwork
A slow and introspective Yin practice
Live piano throughout the immersion
